I’m pretty late to catch on to this trend

Is anyone having a glam pirate party anytime soon?

Anything that glamourises flat shoes… is a-okay with me!

I love these!!!
The website says it perfectly; “The Home Duvet lets you sleep under a cardboard box so a homeless person doesn’t have to!”
I have no idea how I stumbled across this, but I’m glad I did. It makes me want to move into a studio apartment. With a large metal door with at least 4 locks on it. Just like the movies. If it were a comedy, someone would be banging on the door with important news as the main character struggles to unlock them all. And if it were a thriller.. the main character would be chased into the apartment as they fumble with the locks and fasten them all just in the nick of time. Oh oh, and one of those locks would include the little chain and hatch one, where it allows the door to open a fraction.. just enough for the bad-guy to look inside as the victim freaks and runs into a closet or somewhere equally as safe. Under the table perhaps.
Okay wow, so I went offtrack… Anyway. Then I would snuggle up in my comfortable, yet not so comfortable-looking duvet. It’s laser printed into the fabric. How deceiving. I love it!
Even better, 30% of the profits go to a charity in the UK called Centrepoint, which raises money for the homeless, who actually do have to sleep on the streets with little more than cardboard boxes for comfort.
Check out the website for other fun bits and pieces!
For some reason today I am annoyed about this. Perhaps just because I’m already in a bad mood due to work cancelling my shift and not telling me until I rocked up ready to start, only to be asked to go back home.
But, nevertheless, I do wonder if photos like this one would be just as inspirational and freedom-filled if it were two real girls… or..’chubby’ girls.. where an extra layer of flesh replaced the visible bones.
I don’t think it would. Don’t get me wrong. This is a beautiful and well crafted photo. It’s just that as a girl who does not have a visible ribcage and spine to flaunt.. this annoys me a little. I, too, look at this photos and think how full of awe and wonder they are. And I would probably not feel that way about a photo if two girls with my own body shape were doing the exact same thing.
Hmm.
[ + I’m sorry, I don’t know the original source of this photo as I took it off a friends facebook account]

Happy new year to everybody, welcome to a new decade full of new beginnings, the chasing of opportunities, and the fulfilment of our goals, dreams, and aspirations.
My night ended with an unwanted fright. Which I won’t really go into. But I lost my friend for a couple of hours and was the most frightened I have been in such a long time!! Luckily she arrived home, and I got a phonecall letting me know. Whew!
But anyway, I’ll move this onto what the rest of the night was about - fun. I had such a good night overall. Really good people. The people I grew up with. These people are all so insanely different, but growing up together has made us one and the same. No matter how we dress, how we talk, what we’re into, we all share a common ground which is really comforting to go back to after going our separate ways after highschool.
There was nobody outrageously drunk, which was my role last year. There were no arguments, no fights, from what I saw there was nothing broken. Everybody was in a great mood and were all having fun.
It was just really good to share the night with people who know and love you for who you are (and who tell you that you look pretty in your new dress.).
Wishing you all the best year yet in 010. xo
